First Day of Spring Grazing!
This past Monday was almost like a holiday on the farm β the cows enjoyed their first day of grazing fresh pasture this year! March 9th is the earliest we've ever been able to begin grazing in the Spring. Here's how:
Why We Farm
Originally, we were farming individually and wanted to farm together, so we got married. (Best decision ever).
We welcomed one son, and then another, and set off in search of our own piece of land to call home. We looked in Wisconsin and Missouri before settling in Virginia in 2017. We farmed to raise our boys around animals, hard work, and grit.

Meet Butter, the Calf
We had been watching the cows and the weather forecast, and on Sunday night the temps were in the single digits when Blossom went into labor in the corral with fluffy corn fodder bedding. We checked often and after an hour, a baby heifer was born.
