Our Favorite Granola Recipe
With six boys in our family, a little breakfast prep goes a long way!
This recipe is simple to mix up and have prepped for breakfast ahead of time. It’s our favorite recipe for granola ~ and make sure to refrigerate or freeze it since it contains butter. Yum!
A friend shared this recipe with me when I was prepping freezer meals before welcoming our new baby this past Spring, and I tweaked it a little and it’s so good! Keep it in the freezer for busy mornings.
Enjoy with a bowl of homemade yogurt or with raw milk!

Homemade Granola Recipe
Ingredients:
5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup protein powder (we love Heart & Soil for it’s high quality, simple ingredients)
3 cups rice cereal (adds a great crunch)
1.5 tsp cinnamon
1 stick of butter, melted
¾ cup peanut butter, (use peanut butter made with only peanuts & salt)
¾ cup honey
½ - ¾ cup raisins, optional
½ - ¾ cup chocolate chips, optional
½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
How to make:
In a large bowl, stir together the oats, protein powder, rice cereal, and cinnamon.
On the stove in a medium-large pot, melt the butter and once melted, turn off the heat and add in peanut butter and honey. Stir until the ingredients are warm and mixed well. You aren’t trying to cook it, but it needs to be melted to mix together well with the dry ingredients.
Add wet mix into the dry mix bowl and stir together.
Once the granola is cool, stir in your choice of chocolate chips, raisins, and/or nuts.
Store in the fridge or freezer.
