Farmstead Cheese Classes at Creambrook Farm
with Louella Hill
Celebrate mother's day with mozzarella making
Saturday, May 12th, 1pm - 4 pm
Tell your mother you love her by taking her out for the cheesiest afternoon of her life! This hands-on action-packed cheesemaking class led by cheesemaking instructor Louella Hill (author of the book on home cheesemaking "Kitchen Creamery") and the Beichler Family (owners of Creambrook Farm in Middlebrook, VA) will leave you laughing and excited for more home cheesemaking.
In class you'll move from the basics of milk, cultures and rennet onto essential steps for turning a gallon of fresh milk into a silky ball of fresh mozzarella. We'll share tips for stretching, salting and serving this delicious cheese.
In addition to the hands-on cheesemaking, enjoy a tour of the farm (baby cows!) as well as a tasting of the mozz we've just made. All class participants take home recipes, supplies and more cheesemaking enthusiasm than you ever thought possible!
Sign up for class soon as the class size is limited and will fill up. Class is appropriate for all ages (though we recommend ages 10 and up).
What to bring: Notebook, hair tie, comfortable shoes, water bottle, take-home containers
